“Eat it – it’ll put hair on your chest.”
I heard that phrase growing up – many times – especially when I did not like the look, smell or taste of what was being served for dinner.
I think I repeated it to my kids.
Why is “hair on your chest” good for you? And why did I repeat that to my children when I have one son and two daughters? (Yes, the girls looked at me strangely whenever I made this statement.)
I imagine the reasoning was that if it is good for you – you will reap the rewards later. It might repulse you now but will have hair to show later. And hair on your chest – at least for guys - was desirable.
What puts the hair on your chest for your business?
What is it that you don’t want to do but you know will make your business better?
What are you avoiding that will help you grow? Hair on the chest was a sign of growing stronger and more mature – for guys (remember this is an analogy).
What smells funny? What looks weird? Which new thing are you avoiding? Look and smell again – it might put hair on your chest.
